Over 700,000 impoverished Chicago-area residents need an attorney and cannot get one. There just aren’t enough volunteers. But we found attorneys. We found 200 of them. To help bring more, donate HERE! The Pro Bono Network provides an innovative solution — go to the untapped talent of licensed attorneys who have flexible hours to spare and get those hours efficiently used in our communities.

And that is what we do. We bring hands-on legal training to attorneys in their local communities, provide case management, and ensure that the work is convenient to their needs. We arrange this with existing legal-aid agencies so we do not duplicate any services. We expand legal-aid. Our volunteers include stay-at-home parents, sole practitioners, and full-time lawyers as part of our crew of committed volunteers. As a result, over 1000 people have received representation from experienced attorneys since we started in 2011. One thousand. The results have been meaningful. We have brought attorneys to where there are none.

“I honestly do not know what I would have done without my PBN attorneys. They gave me my

freedom back. They allowed me to be able to get sleep at night and not look over my shoulder every single second.” - domestic violence victim Our client was in an abusive relationship where she feared for her life. Without PBN, she would have had to go through this legal maze without an attorney; there is simply no one else at this courthouse. Your investment will see results. We have brought millions of dollars of legal representation to the legal aid market where it did not previously exist. We have expanded representation to geographic areas where none existed and have lowered waiting times for those in need. All of this has cost $15 an attorney hour. There is plenty more to do and we would love for you to do it with us. Because we are “out of the box,” we qualify for little traditional funding, so we rely on individual supporters like you. It’s a new way of thinking about justice delivery, but an old sensibility that justice belongs to all of us. Partner with us to bring justice to more people! DONATE HERE Sincerely,

Donna Peel, Executive Director
