with Prairie State Legal Services
The Social Security Benefits Reconsideration Project assists claimants appealing the Social Security Administration’s initial benefits denial.
It is not easy to apply for Social Security disability benefits, and the denial rate is greater than 90%. Without legal assistance, most of these denials are upheld upon appeal. This project helps improve the odds.
A volunteer attorney can complete this project from his or her home or office. Volunteers interview the client, review the client’s current Social Security record, gather and submit missing medical evidence, and submit a written argument to the claims adjudicator assigned to the case.
