The greatest pro bono need is for brief advice to those who seek guidance as to how to handle their own legal issues.
Prairie State's telephone counseling hotlines, which serve 36 Illinois counties, receive far more calls than their staff attorneys can handle. PBN volunteers help meet this overflow of need by staffing the hotline and providing advice on a wide range of issues including family law, eviction, guardianship, and consumer rights.
This collaboration helps ensure that more low-income individuals throughout Illinois have access to legal assistance.
